Is the O ring between the sender and tank the item you are referring to or do you need the retainer ring too? Max has the gasket but didn't see a ring.

not sure if it is and o ring or gasket have not removed it yet,wanted one so when i take the tank out to clean it,

Unless a previous owner has made their own non stock gasket I believe the O ring is correct. Max shows and sells the O ring and I believe the Packard arrangement is the same as this Ford sender. Perhaps someone who has worked on one recently can confirm.

The original was not an o ring. It had flat surfaces, but the o-ring should work fine.

I believe Kanter sells the sending units along with their new tanks and straps. Perhaps they would have a gasket or o-ring. JWL
