1949 Packard Six Touring Sedans (2282)?

Are any 1949 Packard Six Touring Sedans (2282) known to still exist, especially in the US?

I'm curious about these, since most references indicate they were export only. However, my family's Packard dealership in Hempstead NY sold nine (9) of these vehicles. (These nine are detailed in the attached .jpg......I couldn't get the HTML table code to work).

Are there other US dealers that are known to have sold these 1949 Packard Six Touring Sedans?

Thanks for any input!

Paul

Not sure but I believe they were sometimes used here as taxis. I've never seen one, though.

2282s were sedans, not necessarily for export.
2280/2286 were for taxi service.

It's all nicely explained in Bob Neal's book.

Thanks Owen_Dyneto for the info. What had me wondering was that pretty much every online source (including here at www.packardinfo.com) indicated that the 2282s were export only.

I'll try to get ahold of a copy of Bob's book. I assume this would be "Packard 1948 - 1950", correct?

Thanks, Paul

Paul, now you've got me thinking my knee-jerk answer my not be correct. I'll check Neal's book myself tomorrow.

And yes, that is the book.

A badly weathered '49 2282 sedan turned up on the Detroit metro CL a couple years ago. It was a black sedan but no indication of taxi use was visible.
