1500 Dome Light

Long Time Reader, First Time Poster. With the wealth of knowledge and experience here, no doubt someone has had this problem before. I'd like to check the dome light bulb and fixture to make sure that they are functional and getting current. But I am having trouble removing the bezel to gain access. I have tried to unscrew it manually, but after about a 1/2 turn it will not budge and does not seem to be coming away from the base. A very wise mechanic once said to me,"Well, you've got to know what you can get away with!"
And I don't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The dome light is not screwed on. It is just popped on. I'll try and get some good pics, but it does not have threads.

Dear Supinas,
That's very useful. Would love pix when you can.
Also wondered what happened to your possible book on the
1937 Seniors.
Keep cool and safe,
Thanks

The book is close to completion. LIFE had been getting in the way. It is just shy of 300 pages and over 500 images. Now I am working with a professional to format it properly.

'Reedman'...hmmmm
By any chance are you related to the Reedman Borthers of Langhorne, PA?

I grew up (in the 50s) in Bucks County PA.
A couple brothers had a used car business. They did very well with the policy of 'minimal profit..high turn around.'
Then they decided to venture into a Chevrolet dealership.
REmember...television was a new fangled contraption in the early 50s!...so they decided to advertise on TV.
A FIRST!!!!
Business boomed and all the other Chevy dealers in the Philly area banded together and told Corporate..
"shut these guys up or we are going to quit!"
Somehow an agreement was worked out.
The Reedman Auto Department grew to about 11 dealerships with a private test track and 24 hour service department.
My Father bought a '61 Rambler American off the showroom floor.

Any relation??????

Looking forward to the book.
Long gestation periods insure outstanding results!
No relation to the Chevy dealer, although I had seen his dealer emblems on and off for years, and playing the clarinet, was tempted to purchase a car just for the emblem!
Somehow that never happened, but it stuck in my mind.
There was another dealership called "Whiteman" (Paul) whose emblem tempted me the same way. All before children.

G'Day!
I seem to have successfully duplicated my Packard with an awful (pixillated) photo. And the first listing I posted, some time ago had only a factory stock photo.
I'd like to delete the new listing, and change the old picture. But am clueless as to how to proceed.
Parenthetically, I have been unable to add an avatar picture to my Account Profile because the format says that all the ones I attempt are too big.
Any help would be appreciated, and thank you for all you do.

Don,
for including your '37 Super Eight Touring Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Bob,

Here in Australia, have a mate with a '37 Super Eight Club Sedan so I'd be interested in getting a copy of your book when it's published.

EDIT
Don,
As per later posts for already having included your '37 Super Eight Touring Sedan in the Registry.

Don,

I can help with the Registry entries but not with the Avatar. Someone elso on here had to help me with that!

Didn't realise you already had your Packard in the Registry. Usually check before I make a congratulatory post, in this instance I didn't, so my fault.

Let me have a look at the entries and will try to sort things out for you.

Don,

Have updated your original '37 Super Eight Touring Sedan Registry entry with 1) The photo from your recent entry, 2) Optional Equipment info that was in the original entry but not in the latest entry, and 3) Vehicle History info that was in the original entry but not in the latest entry. Could you please cast a critical eye over what I've done and, if you're in agreement with my changes, I'll then remove the latest entry from the Registry.

I'll also edit my earlier entry to reflect your initial entry in the Registry.

PS - This to all Forum Members. You can go into your Registry Entry/ies and change text and photos. Just access the "Make Changes" field at the bottom of your entry, make the changes and then click on the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of your entry.
