I am trying to find a diagram that shows the dome light wiring for my standard eight. Looked at the 36 that Howard had uploaded, it did not show the dome light like the 35. Has anyone used the Antique Car diagrams.com?,are they righteous?. it's a mystery when the wire hides between the sheet metal and wood.

Unfortunately body wiring to include various lights was not consistently shown in the prewar drawings. Someone on the forum mentioned the misc drawings usually covered body wiring for those years along with other body specific parts. Postwar drawings started to show body lights but even postwar they supplied wiring info on separate sheets for most options. It could be with prewar bodies being somewhat customizable they did not want to provide a standard one size fits all drawing for any lights and just designated where a feed for those lights would be found.

I would almost bet money they did the 35 dome lights the same as it shows on the 36 diagram. While the 35 120 shows a body feed off the headlight switch which was the typical feed for later interior lights, the 35 super eight and 1200 step lights and door switches appear to be the same as shown on the 36 twelve diagram and very similar to the 34 twelve diagram. The 34 & 36 drawings show two wires labeled as going to dome lights - one from each door switch - powered off the tail light circuit.

With models so similar and Packard not changing something that worked very much year to year, it might be they just ran the feed to the 35 dome lights from the door switches in the same manner. No idea of the routing though because it seems for whatever reason sometimes Packard took the long way around getting from point A to B. In the prewar years the interior light power appears to have frequently been supplied off another circuit that might not be active at all times and then went thru a switch first before going to a bulb which was then grounded.

The Packard factory wiring diagram specifically for the 1200 chassis and body type 803 is in the Miscellaneous (MI) series, blue print #4-8266. Many of this series have survived and are available from the Proving Grounds.
