Garage Exhaust Fan

Greetings - I recently acquired two antique vehicles including a 1924 Packard Single Eight. Despite no active fuel leaks, we are experiencing some unpleasant fuel smells in the garage. Fortunately, we have a secure metal grate door. It pretty much handles the problem, but we live in a dusty environment, and a lot of dust gets in through that door. Also, if there isn't much of a breeze, the door being open isn't very effective. So I am thinking of installing an exhaust fan. Has anyone done this before, and what advice would you have? From what I've learned, the fuel odors stay low to the ground. So I'm assuming I would want to put this fan about a foot off the floor level. Does that seem fair?
Thank you!

Gasoline vapor is a little heavier than air, and it will tend to hug the floor. It would probably be safer, and just as effective, to mount the exhaust fan, switch, and air exit point well above the floor, and have an inlet source of outside air near the floor.

I've been wondering how to do this too at my shop without defeating the purpose of the spray foam insulation! So far I've not come up with any solutions other than putting in an as-needed under-door fan of some sort rather than a full-time one. Here is a DYI one but I would prefer to buy one already made.

Have you considered a heat exchanger? 🤔

I assume a cheaper option exists, but like this:
