I think John Harley said it best very early in this thread, once the continuity of the company is broken and the corporate culture that created its products no longer exists, these attempts are all just another creation without lineage, not Packards, no matter what name is tacked on them.

Design and coach work done by Zagato of Turin Italy which was found by by Ugo Zagato in 1919. I guess that firm has some linage behind it.
