Amazon is another source worth reviewing for books, frequently find books there at reasonable prices. In this selection of Peter Kirchberg's books there are 2 of the second book Gerd cites, both around $80 plus shipping.

THere are still many VW's ("beetle" or "bug" type) still roaming the roads here in the US. Don't see one every day but do see one at least once a month if not more often still in operation. IIRC 1975 was the last year VW Beetle was sold here in the US.

I'm wondering if the VW beetle is still popular in Germany and about how often does one still see a VW beetle in operation in Germany???

The same situation on my side.
According to wikipedia the last of 21,529,464 has been built 2003 in Mexico.
