Hi:
Ron Amspoker here.
I want to put an aftermarket A/C unit in my 1956 Packard Clipper Super. It does not now, nor ever had A/C.
I have read many of the posts and have gained a great deal of knowledge. However, it seems there are a lot of alternatives (I'm not a mechanic) some of which I don't understand
My question is where do I go to select a unit that can be installed with the minimum of effort, knowing that some fabrication will have to be done.
I am in Gainesville, Florida, so if you know of a provider in this area it would be helpful.
Thanks, Ron

I am in the process of using several of the basic items and one of the indash evaporators from Nostalgic Airhttp://www.nostalgicairparts.com/ in my 56. A little different case here as I am working with a nonfunctional factory air system and adapting pieces. They have some very nice complete hang on under dash systems as well. Things arriving so far have been from Tampa. Vintage Airhttp://www.vintageair.com/ lists a dealer in Gainesville. There is at least one system from Old Airhttp://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/index.php installed by a poster from Florida so he may have obtained it locally thru one of their dealers. One nice thing about their Hurricane system is that it can be ordered cable operated and some of the Packard factory air flow controls can be used on it.

Hello,

Search Air Conditioning, Author yesterdaysradio to see the photos of the Classic Auto Air installation in my 1956 Patrician. They are very helpful and their products are excellent. I have had the unit for over three years and it is outstanding. It was an easy installation.

I have a hurricane setup in my 71 Pontiac 428....easy setup but had to make the brackets myself for the early head design. Paid the extra 85 to have them rework my factory controls to run their unit.

Jerry could you be more specific about where to find the snaps of your installation? I can't seem to find it.

Here is some of Jerry's engine compthttps://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=26218#forumpost26218

and some morehttps://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=27518#forumpost27518

Didn't see any of interior though so may be in a different thread.

A few posts further, there is also a list of the components Loyd Smith used on his car --also from Classic-- but some of those items NLA and replaced by later models. Some other posters have some pics of their installations there as well.
