Please allow me to personally invite you along for a trip to Alaska.
Here is a link to the itinerary and reservations page~

http://www.akferry.com/tours/Studebaker2011.html

Lee Chase is your PRIMARY point of contact, but he has asked me to assist him.
You see~ I am a member of the local SDC Chapter in the area of the 'jump off' point for the Cruise, and will assist at this end. Plans are far from firm, but Whatcom County SDC hopes to provide as much hospitality as we can before and/or after the trip. We have lots of ideas at this point~ including a send-off and/or a welcome home party for the AlaskaCruisers. The local Stude Museum may open up for tours somewhere in there as well.

We have many members in the area who can help out with your preparations for the trip up.
Maybe you'll need a place to store your tow rig while away?
Maybe you'll need parts/repairs after the fact?
Storage, StudeParts vendors, garages and mechanics can be standing by for an 'assist' should that need arise.

More is sure to come on what looks to be a fun trip~
before and after the Alaska part of it all...

Please keep in mind that there are many options for you~
Maybe you wanna leave your car at home~ fly here, and bum a ride with one of the folks bringing a vehicle OR take in the trip in a rental car.
Maybe you'd like to taking the ferry one way, drive the other way, and do some of the tour in the middle?
Maybe you'd like to drive up, join the tour for a few days, and drive back?
Maybe you live in Alaska and wanna join the tour somewhere along the way?

Either way~ give Alaska Ferry Adventures a call.
Ask for Pat- she'll help you out. (tell her SDC sent ya!!!)

I think that's everything. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Thanks for the invitation. It takes a lot of heart to make this trip in a brand new vehicle. I admire folks who drive their autos. Good luck!

I just got word that the deadline to sign up is going to be May 1st. If you're even thinking about this trip~ CALL PAT NOW!!!!

She's running out of time to hold our spots on the boat and at the hotels/tours along the way. Many options are available. Look into it.

Welp- we didn't get too many folks signed up, but we did get a few. One of the couples is planning to DRIVE their '50 Studebaker Commander out here from Minnesota!!! They will then get on the boat- drive 1500 or so miles in Alaska, and then DRIVE it back home.
