It depends on how crusty the deposit is.
I would suggest that you first try pouring enough kerosene to completely cover the deposit, and then some, and leave the pan sit somewhere safe outdoors, overnight, but covered with tinfoil. Then, see if a gentle scrubbing action with a stiff nylon bristle cleaning brush will start to break it up, and report back to us.

Maybe someone put some kind of tranny treatment in before you had it and it set?
In any case, +1 on kerosene and gentle scrubbing, maybe even with a plain green scotch brite pad (without soap embedded, of course.)

Dear Andre:
Ouch! You are probably looking at settlement and oil oxidation due to extended storage. It is probably superficial and removable using cans of brake parts cleaner or wax and grease remover from a local paint store. You'll need a pan to capture the mess and safety glasses, but I wouldn't recommend trying to flush the transmission. Putting the pan back on, filling to oil level, and soaking - without starting - would probably be okay too, but more work. After the car is on the road changing the fluid once or twice will probably take care of the rest. Good luck.
