Hi West

The line of the wings is different. On the Isotta the underside is straight and on the Duesenberg its stepped but they are both quite similar

He's now taken it off ebay. I offered him ?100 cash tonight and collect straight away. He rejected this and said he wanted ?200.

Maybe he sold it, maybe he didn't.

He also said it was solid brass which I think is wrong - the original was bronze.

Looks like we can expect the sequel. Here's from the seller:

Dear donskotty,Hello, thanks for your bid on the car mascot I have listed. I have now been informed that my description is wrong and it is in fact :- Spirit of Triomphe " , original radiator mascot hood ornament, the official factory mascot for the prestigious ISOTTA-FRASCHINI and DUESENBERG cars of the twenties and thirties. This absolutely stunning mascot, is by Frederick Bazin, the famous cculptor and mascot designer of the period.I have therefore decided to end the listing and re list with the correct description.I hope you will be able to bid on the new listing. Regards peterinmansell - peterinmansell

I wonder how the seller came by the piece?
