That is a turntable for a showroom, ergo the space maintainted around the car. This photo was taken at the main factory Packard dealership at 574E. Jefferson Ave. in Detroit.

The turntable looks interesting. For mid fifties, that looks very compact. Looks like rollers under the rails. I wonder what kind and size motor they used to rotate it?

Is this building still standing in Detroit?

V8 / 352cui / 275HP or does this turntable really have an engine?

I wonder what kind and size motor they used to rotate it?

Not much of a motor required, if any. Ever push your car around the garage on dollys? Just a one-handed push is all that's needed. A railroad turntable from the steam locomotive era that rotated a 30-40? ton locomotive and tender used electric motors in the 20 hp range.
