Mal, that is a 22nd or 23rd series grille. The 21st series is more narrow and longer.

Gerd, I don't know the make of the "grille" you have highlighted.

I have been to the Austin Speed Shop and have seen their facility and the Duce roadster. They did a super nice job. They estimate the cost to build one like this is $100K.

can you see any of the markings, that were on the firewall? Some of the V8's were marked with their data before they were painted, so we are able to see the numbers, even if the data plate is missing.

Is any of the chrome still good on that Patrician? I also see an antenna, is it still all there?

Sure, I'll try to get some photos of the tag numbers on the Packards I find out there. Some of the chrome on these cars is still decent. Let me know what you are lookin' for and I will go check it out sometime soon. I'm sure that antenna is still there, John doesn't get much traffic through his lot, that is why he has been thinking of crushing everything. There are 5 Packards there, that I know of. A '52 200, '52 400, '53 Clipper, '55-'56 possibly Patrician, and another '55-'56 that is for sale as a complete car. I'm going to look around for some of the older body styles. I had my eyes trained to find my body style, but I'm going to see if I can find any 40's era Packards, or 30's.

As per the John's salvage offer,

I could use the Upper grille bars that go around under the headlights. I see the LH is broken, but the RH doesn't look that bad. Could you see if it's cracked, and how much he wants for it?

Sure thing! There might be another out there that is in better condition, I'll check the next time I go.

Joey,

If you are looking at the long narrow grille hanging on the wall, it is probably for a '37 Ford. The Packard grille is higher up and further back.

(o[]o)

Edit: Actually, it looks like the front fenders and grille clip.

John,

The grill I'm looking at is on the right lower corner of the office at the 28 second mark before the camera pans up to where the front clip of the 22/23 Series is. Then after it pans back, it can be seen at the 35 second mark.

Saw the 22/23 Series clip when I first viewed the video, but didn't notice the Ford grill until that was commented on!

I didn't know Ford made a grill that looked almost identical to a Packard 21st series grill!
