What's up everyone. This is Mike or as all my buddies call me "Jerry Lee" out of Lancaster PA. I'm a young guy at a quarter century old but I just love old cars. First car I drove was a 62 bel air 4 door. my buddy has a 1950 ford custom that is all original and my other buddy is restoring a 49 pontiac currently and I have been waiting for something to catch my attention and over the past few months a certain car has done just that.

I have been checking out this 4 door Packard that has been for sale for a while now and have decided to pick it up within the month if its still available and I have the cash for it. I took pictures of it today and checked it out for the fourth or fifth time and I am starting to get obsessed with it.

Its in alright shape and pretty solid with not much rust BUT it is missing the front and rear bumper, the hood lettering and ornament. the tail lights and I guess the parking light lenses on the bumper.

Also it is not running but for the price it's set at all this is alright because I absolutely love the body lines and the overall shape of this car!

Thanks to this site, I found out by searching the body number its a 1951 300 touring sedan with the 327 straight 8. It has the AM radio in the dash and its a three on the tree setup.

hopefully within the month it will be sitting in my driveway and getting ready to be taken care of.

Thanks to this website it has been a great help and has the info I have been looking for on packards for the past month! just thought I would introduce myself because i will be looking for the bumpers which I can imagine will be a PITA to find.

Thanks guys!

Jerry Lee

Welcome to the group Jerry Lee!

You have come to the best place for Packard info on the net (I have found) and the folks on here couldn't be nicer. I have learned so much from this site that I can't help but tell every other packard owner I know about it.

As a potential packard owner, you will br part of a grand membership of proud owners. Hope to see some pics posted of your potential buy.

Welcome to the group! Packard's standard transmissions are really well-built and should give you years of service. The 300 is a fine automobile with many years of building really solid straight eights behind it. Good luck on your purchase and be sure to post a picture in the owner's registry.

Mike,

Welcome too, from downunder! Good to see some more young blood coming on board. This is a great site with great Packard people who are always willing to share their experiences and give advice, etc.

As to obsession, this is almost a pre-requisite to being a Packard owner, so you qualify easily! As the guys said, get it into the Owner Registry and all and any pic's would be appreciated.
