Do standard beauty rings fit on 54 Clipper rims? I think they might look good with the dog dish hub caps.

They do, and it is a nice look. If you are going with blackwalls you could consider painting the wheels ivory also as it draws the eye downward to the car's advantage.

Our garage sale slowed progress this weekend, but brought in about $250. Also made more room in the garage. The garage is a not quite 2 car unit.
Got the Clipper on jack stands and the tires off to be demounted. I am getting smaller white walls now with Wide Cokers in the future. Need the money for body work and tail lights.
Now ,I will be able to adjust the tranny linkage and do some clean up under the Clipper.
I will be cleaning the rims and painting them. The color sounds interesting, I will have some time to think about it as doing the rims will take some time, but save me about $125.00.
Since the Clipper is Gray, I wonder how the ivory rims with an ivory top would look?

Diamondback it will be. The beauty rings that fit the Packard rims, are they the deep 1 3/4 with multiple clips or the shallow flat ones with wheel weight style clips? I am ready to go at the end of this week to have the tires mounted and want to have the rings ready to go with my "dog dish" hub caps.

I ran mine with regular clip on trim rings from like you get from Night Prowlers or Moon. They look real nice with the stock caps. I ran mine on black rims and loved the look, and also on red rims for a while. In my opinion, cream wheels look good with black walls or thin whites, but with wide whites they make the whole thing look like a big white blob. Just my 2? though. I know a lot of cars, including my Clipper, came from the factory with cream wheels and white walls however. I just prefer a white wall with a contrasting color rim.

This is where I get my stuff. I love doing business with Ron & Jill, they're good people! The stock caps also look really clean with a little center bullet.

Here's my '53 with the stock caps and rings on black wheels. I'm thinking of going back to red now that I'm running my '57 Buick caps..

The headlamp doors/bezels with the fin on top were introduced in 54 for all models EXCEPT Clippers.

I suspect that they could be retrofitted to any model 51-54, but note that there is a difference in one fastener (per side) for 54 - see Gr. 4.1311 of the 48-54 parts book.
