Mine has failed. I managed to find what's claimed to be an NOS '38 Super 8 voltage regulator. The 12 is rated at 30A, the Su 8, 28A. The generators are different and so are the numbers on the regulators. Anyone know if I can safely use the Su 8 regulator?

Many thanks,
Richard
(proud new owner of a '39 12)

G'day Richard(albo123),
to PackardInfo. A good source to help with your query would be Jason of Advanced Electrical Rebuilders, email - jason@aerrebuild.com or www.aerrebuild.com

In the meantime, while you're voltage regulator problem is being sorting out, I invite you to include your '39 Twelve in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Hello Mate,
Thank you for the welcome. I just tried registering my Packard, but the form does provide for the model of my 39 12, which is a 1708, 7 passenger touring sedan.
All the best,
Richard

Richard,

Although it pains me to say it the Registry does have some limitations which, given time, will be fixed. However, in the meantime, can you do a "work around" by selecting the model nearest to yours and complete your registration using that? Then, once you've saved the registration, go back in and edit the description/model to reflect what you want?

Well... thanks, Mal. However, I can find no way to correct the fact that it's not a Brunn, but the more pedestrian 7 pass touring sedan.

Richard,

Fixed it for you. For future reference, when you go into your Registry Entry go to the foot of the page and click on the Make Changes button to add to or edit the entry. Speaking of which, what about a photo?
