I suspect you'd have a better chance at finding one at Kanter's than at Max's, but even then I think the chances are very slim. But it's just a very simple mechanical switch, NAPA sells a variety of mechanical brake light switches, and industrial supply houses like MSC at McMaster-Carr have generic switches that are suitable. Really, the only challenge will be making a simple bracket to hold the switch in a suitable location.

Do you have a switch now? If so is it the kind that can be taken apart and worked on?

Howard, like many other electrical items, they were originally designed to be discarded at failure and replaced, but they are assembled with sheet metal tabs and can easily be disassembled and often it's a very simple matter to repair them. Basically a plunger, a spring, a set of contacts, and a housing to keep it all together.

I dont have the original switch that went inside the transmission housing, I do have one someone added aftermarket that is connected to the pedal.
I really try to put all my cars back like original when i can.
