I agree with you regarding vinyl for broadcloth, but flexible vinyl was invented in, I believe, 1928. It was in commercial use well before the mid fifties. Vinyl when leather was the original deserves a big demerit, but Packard was using it in some applications by the 22nd series if not sooner so beware of being too broad

I believe one of the few differences between the 46 and 47 was a different color break at the rear of sedans. One follows the curve under the rear window, leaving the deck lid lower color. The other has the deck lid top color.

Detroit’s government shenanigans ( not just talking Packard plant) go back a lot longer than Archer.

Thanks for the great summary! The city’s corruption over a long period has had consequences

I lived near Detroit for a while until very recently
There are some revitalized areas and some sad ones. Indian Village always strikes me as a clearly once nice area fallen on hard times. And I’ve been to the Packard factory. I agree with MrPB - the entrance, the emblem off the body bridge, and some of the office materials have been salvaged. The rest needs to go

I agree. The portion of the proving ground that has been saved and revitalized is the Packard history center

The 327 is a stroked 288. The 288 replaced the 282 for the 22nd series

You seem to be looking for support for rationalizing rodding the car. It’s your car, do what you want. But adding a bunch of mismatched stuff is neither simplifying nor necessarily improving the job

Assuming you have the standard interior, I think you would need 3 materials: striped wool broadcloth for the seats, a plain material for the door panels, and a lighter weight material for the headliner. It might be ok to use one material for the latter two.
