'53 Trunk handle
Home away from home
Home away from home

Denny Z
I'm looking for a restored or restorable '53 Senior trunk lid handle. I think that was the only year it was used. It sat rather low on the lid and included the lock mechanism. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks

I'll try again to trace the wires tomorrow.

They turn. I thought maybe they were aftermarket but wasn't sure. Where are the heater/fan switches supposed to be?

I have two non-working switches under the dash to the right of the steering column. My question, what are they for? They appear to be reostat type switches, maybe to dim the dash gauges (?). . . HELP!

I took BDeB's advise and made the filler strip for my nos mirror. I used 1/16" thick aluminum, shaped and drilled it as he suggested and then super glued it to the mirror base to make mounting easer. PERFECT!

Recently there was also a Chrysler tailight described as a '57 Packard. He has since corrected the error. What really rattles my chains is when a seller describes a Packard hood cormorant as a "swan." eeeeeeeeh :( I've been known to point their error out to them!

Much of that road is still unpaved, at least from the quarry on. It's a slow drive unless you want some new paint chips!

That scenic view is overlooking Gordon's Lodge at Gore Bay. Yes, that's the Meldrum Bay lighthouse just past the stone quarry. Haweaters!!! I'd forgotten the term. I still have a jar of Hawberry Jelly in the fridge. A couple more photos . . . lined up at the lodge and the "facilities!" Sweet '47!

Okay Clipper47, here's my travelogue . . . remember Manitoulin Island?? They take care of their Seniors; found a project car; and we met some wacky Canadians too!

Clipper47, they told us that the island isn't what it used to be. The tourist trade is way down mainly because the fishing isn't very good any more. The people were very nice and appreciative of our interest in the area. It was a nice place to visit but I would really not want to live there . . . not much going on at all!
