i got my seal for the 55 pump at Zoro tools. it was way overkill and i have no idea if it will even really work as i haven't been able to test it under use yet. i'd hate for anyone to go out and get it thinking its been tested. the specs are all good on it and it went in and butted up to the impeller, so fingers are crossed.

it wasn't cheap either, but the materials are far superior to the originals too, so its worth the cost.

one thing i did do was take the old one....measure it....then i went to the Granger website and typed in the specs in there seals section and came up with one that was very similar and thats what i went with.

i'm not sure if the bathtubs are the same pump seal or not, or if there is even something out there that would work.

Are you guys familiar with this site for tracking down seals?

http://www.timken.com/en-us/products/seals/industrial/products/Documents/7707.pdf

Between this and an old Trostel seal catalog (there are interchange sites for their numbers) it's rare i can't find a perfect seal match. I'd be glad to post the Trostel info (13 pages I believe) if there is interest.

O_D,

Thanks for the Timken link. I would be very interested in seeing the Trostel catalog.

Old Trostel seal listing. If I can't find a seal on the Timken or other seal sites I've sometimes found this to be useful. Sorry but there are a couple of pages missing. I hope it proves useful.

Stefan,
for including your '47 Clipper Six Club Sedan in the Registry.
