Companys like this one make all sorts of bodys for all sorts of makes and models. This is just one example I could think of off the bat, doubt they would have a packard. But I'm sure somebody somewhere would make a rendition of a boattail. I imagine that the frame he has found is in great condition.

Thanks for all the input.I'm not sure which way to go yet. The chassis is in great shape but I'm a little concerned about the engine block being cracked or somthing,is that an issue for the straight 8?

I found a clean 28 Sedan cowl, anyone know if it's the same as a 29 Opera Coupe?

Just can't stay away

If anyone remembers this from last September here is an update... I got some encouragement but some thought I was crazy. I have seen the speedster body done before so I wanted to do something different. See the link for a video of my progress so far.

Dan,

Some consider that those with Packard blood in their veins, ie all of us here, are a little crazy anyway. Whatever it is, I'm glad to be so struck.

What you've done with the Coupe is great stuff, keep it up and keep us posted. You might even consider creating a Project Blog here on PackardInfo so we can follow along as you progress with the Coupe?

Dan, this is truly remarkable! Your progress is inspiring to say the very least. As Mal said, please feel free to start a project thread here if you have time while making all that progress. It is nice to see something this far gone return to life.

Thanks so much for your kind words!It won't be your traditional packard or your traditional hot rod but it will be back on the road. the scrap guy was next in line for it, (and I just could not let that happen)So I'm building it the way I want it,mostly packard with a little hotrod!I'll consider the blog, but I must say I'm better with tools than I am with a key board.
