Funny thing is, the minute I open my mouth about it taking forever they came in the mail today. Now..... Here is to me getting them in the right spot and with no creases or air bubbles!! what do you think...is that about the right spot to place it?

And thanks, I'm pretty impressed with myself. 2 years ago....didn't know what the inside of a classic v8 looked like.

Henry,
Looking good.

Look at the factory A/C install pictures and see the different hose clamps that we're used! Look at pictures marked F3, 6, 7, 8, 13, and 64.

What with all the special coatings and fasteners, I'm interested in your plans for the exhaust manifolds. Any powder coating in their future?

Unless it's going to be strictly a show engine, you can't use conventional powder coat on exhaust manifolds - too hot. But there are a number of ceramic coatings techniques available. I used Jet-Coat (I think that's the name) on my 34 in lieu of porcelain and it's held up very well indeed.

i just wanted things to last a bit longer is all. i don't plan anything special for the headers. they are painted in a 2000 degree flat engine black. they will require a special heat cycle burn in when i first get to firing up the motor to season the paint so it wont burn off.

i got the valve cover stickers in place, but i got some little air bubbles in them in certain places that are proving to be hard to remove. i don't want to peal the sticker back up either, so i may just have to live with it.

i first started by lining up the sticker where i wanted it and then taping down the side that had the longer backing paper on it. then peal and pressed on the shorter side first. took off the tape and did the other side.

Not sure if it would work with these stickers, but for most of the vinyl type ones, I spray down the surface with a little soapy water, and then remove the backing paper and also spray down the back of the sticker. Then I can "float" the sticker into position, and then squeegee out all the water and it leaves it perfect, with no air bubbles. This is similar to how they install window tint as well.
