The Packard Motor Car Foundation was able to purchase one of two sets of large entry doors that fronted on EGB. This was accomplished a number of years ago when the wrecking ball was near and we negotiated with the then current owner. A very generous gift was given to us to make this important acquisition.

The entry way and doors are safely stored at the PPG and an image of our doors are shown below. They are somewhat different than the doorway installed in 1907.

I know an individual who owns two prewar Packards and received a foreclosure notice on Christmas Eve. He still owns the Packards but the bank kept the case open and foreclosed. Every time I do any business with bankers I walk away feeling like I just had a conversation with criminals.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^

What EXACTLY does your paranoia with bankers have to do with the subject at hand??? This thread is about Packard Plant Updates.

Didn't you read BigKev's admonition back on page #2, post #12???

You said you wanted an example of a lazy banker mismanaging a mortgage problem.

Anyhow, I merely noticed and quoted the news article which reported the Packard property was being used for something productive until it was foreclosed upon and left to ruin.

There are millions of cases where residential properties in the USA were being used as dwellings until they were foreclosed upon and demolished by banks. Obviously, people like Madoff have been forgotten. I guess Countrywide Financial is just a case of false arrest.

As well, I live in the area and see daily the effects of corrupt government and residential ruin brought upon by crooked lending practices.

Hello Steve:

Regarding Reanimate the Ruins. Hope you like the choice - a forum member, Mr Pushbutton, was on the judging panel. I think they did a good job.

Looks nice. It would be nice to see it happen, but a development that nice would require the area around it be cleared. Right now, that area is pretty sketchy to attract the kind of tenants they would be looking for.

Very nice, but about time to put her to bed for the winter. Maybe snow tomorrow.
