38 110 water & fuel pump ?

I talked with someone at Max Merritt today about a fuel pump & water pump for a 38 110. The engine number matches up correctly for the yr. 1938 but it appears to have a 1946 casting date on the lower part of the block. He said he would need to see the actual water & fuel pump first to make sure he sends me the right thing. Does that sound right? He said the water & fuel pump are different on a 1938 6 cyl. compared to 1946 6 cyl.

46 cars had electric wipers, so the fuel pump was single action only for 46 cars - just order a fuel pump for the 38, which will have the vacuum chamber for your wipers as well.
Waterpump is the same 38-47, with a minor exception to early 38 cars, a detail only the cognoscenti would appreciate. Order a "standard" 38-47 waterpump and don't give a second thought to this detail.

Ok, so waterpump doesn't matter , just order like you said. But what if the engine is a 46 6 cyl. does it still not matter if it's a 38 fuel pump?

All '38's had vacuum wipers so whether it's a 6 or 8 shouldn't come into the equation.
