Just at the beginning point of restoring my 1951 packard senior ambulance. One of the big questions is does all of the packards from 1951-end interchange parts or which models match up with my ambulance. I know there will be certain parts that are ambulance specific but otherwise???? I know I need the front right fender and all of the chrome front to back. My grill is broke. engine is a v-8 trans a3 speed on the column. the motor will turn over by hand but thats all i've tried. the floor pans in the cab, lets say were their at one point. my reg email is rianrts@yahoo.com thanks for any and all help in advance. Tony

I hope you meant a straight or in-line 8 and not a V8. To avoid any doubt about which chassis you have, how about giving us the vehicle number from the tag on driver's door jam forward edge?

Tony, thanks for the number, 2413 does correspond to a 1951 ambulance/hearse and the 2132 indicates that it's the 132nd such unit to be supplied to Henney. There should also be a large number embossed on the firewall just above the heater box, and if you'd be kind enough to get that for me I would very much appreciate it. The number is enclosed by a set of brackets at each end, like <AXXXXX>.

As to your question about parts interchange, the 48-54 Packard parts book which I believe it available on this website indicates which parts are unique to the ambulance/hearse vehicles.

Thats an easy request the number is A72075. So far in my research the motor has to be from a 1955 packard there goes the original look hahaha o well I'm staying true to packard at least, Tony

Tony,

Is it possible to provide pic's of the '55 V8 engine in your '51? I'm sure there'll be many here interested to see that.

Wasn't there an early '50s Packard hearse/ambulance on eBay a while back that had a Packard V8 engine in it? I seem to remember one from somewhere.
