I looked at a 1950 Super 8 conv. today that was yellow. The dash was yello also--is that correct for the convertibles for the dash to be the same color as the car? It's a nice strong #3 car but the seller wants $34K which I think is really high for that year/model convertible.

Those cars had a leather grained finish on the dash.

Leather grained? I don't think I've seen that before. I was thinking it was wood grain dash. How expensive is it to have the dash restored to proper wood grain or leather grain? Also, who does that kind of thing? Lastly, is it hard to remove the dash? Can you tell I'm considering this?!

22nd series was body color. Per the parts book, the 23d series Super Victoria had either tan or red. The Customs also seemed to have some sort of graining, but it is not described. These are from the Tareshawty collection. Click the photos for much more detail. I think it is a very nice effect.

So a 1950 Super 8 conv. is incorrect if it has same color dash as body color, right?

I guess I'm getting an education here, I thought the dashes were body color on convertibles, I wouldn't think the woodgrain would have enough wet weather resistance for a convertible.
