I think they would have looked 100 times better if they had the same headlight treatment that the '57 Packards have.

Yeah,
it seems that this four-eyed sweetheart has been left at the altar more than once. DanL

It's certainly unusual. I have a Popular Mechanics 1958 Cars Fact Book in my hand. It shows the Packard two door hardtop as well as the 4 door sedan and station wagon and the Packard Hawk sports hardtop.
So, they did build such a model. How many I do not know but it is probably the rarest Packard of the postwar era. They describe the appearance of the 1958 Packard as "distinctive in the extreme". Now that's what I call diplomatic!

I've heard it described as bug eyed, and with Nance's bulls nuts tail lights, and the sore thumbs, and then the 58 Hawks Martha Raye grille, Packard had quite the styling trend going.

I don't know, they can look pretty neat when restored:
I still think they should have used the headlights from the '57 models. And the rear looks better than the front, like a LOT of women I know..:

I'll admit, there are worse out there and these colors are somewhat dignified. There was an episode of Bob Vila's TV show filmed in Miami with a 58 parked in front of an art deco hotel. The brightest lavender and something car you ever wanted to see.

That's the one. I spotted it half a block away as he was driving up the street pointing out the different sights. The owners of these cars really don't mind being noticed.
