Good doctor,

Thanks for that, it's pleasing to see other Packards around the world. Looks like there is a fair amount of work for this restoration, but at least they can walk around the car in the garage not like mine where space is at a premium.

If you look closely, you'll notice that this Packard is a 1956, it has '56 front fenders, chrome that goes all the way back to the taillights, and most importantly, the little chrome pieces on the rear window. It DOES however, look like the twin sister to mine, with that '55 front bumper. I hope he has better luck that I did trying to find the front end for a '56!

It seems to have 55 tail lights.

Any indication that it was assembled in Belgium? The firm there that assembled knocked-down Studebakers assembled a small number of Packards in 1955 and 1956. I'm trying without success to remember the name of the outfit, they were a well-known high quality coach builder in the 20s and 30s, creating custom bodies for Minerva, M-B and other European chassis as well as a few American chassis; shortly after WW II they came back to life by assembling VWs. Owners were two or more brothers. I'll probably think of their name in the middle of the night and by the time I sign on tomorrow AM I'll have forgotten again.

AHAH! Just remembered it. d'Ieteren Freres (brothers).

It does have 55 tailights and the roof drip rail has been painted or removed. Restoring a four-door in that shape is going to be a challenge. It does have a 56 trunk lid though.
