So, I get a dm, from another member, suggesting that my addressing the members as "Groupies" could be deemed offensive to some of our "elderly conservative" members. I joined this group back in 2012 when I bought my first Packard. A 51 Patrician. I have learned so much about these magnificent machines from the members of this awesome site. Having owned 5 since that first one, I guess I am hooked on Packards.With all that being said, if my addressing the members as "Groupies" is offensive, you have my sincere apologies. Being a retired Navy, 77-95, veteran and a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, my verbal "filter" is almost non existent. LOL

I would think that it would be a badge of honor to be considered a Packard Groupie.

Not offensive to me for whatever that's worth and I figure I fit at least the elderly part. I started driving dad's 23rd series when he purchased a new car in 1960. A few years later when first married we had a couple of 55 Packards, then a long dry spell till we purchased a 40 and 48 in the more recent past. Age and energy sort of gets in the way of enjoying them, but guests get to enjoy seeing them at a tiny motel we operate with our kids.

As a 69 year old, I didn’t find it offensive at all even though it seemed an odd and inaccurate thing to call car aficionados.
