In my first post, I thought I would share this cool story I found on Fred Kanter, owner of Kanter Auto Parts. He has more than 100 cars in his collection, several dozen of them Packards. Pretty cool little piece - check it out...

I have seen the collection in person!! It is a fantastic and eclectic collection!

That is a terrible picutre of the orange Packard!!! It makes the car look about 6 feet shorter than it actually is!!

Anyone have a good shot of that car??

I agree, what a horrible, distorted picture. There's a decent picture of Fred (in matching shirt) and the Speedster in the Photo Archive taken by me at the 2008 Fairfield County (CT) Concours. I've also got some photos of it taken when it was on display at the CWJ Museum in Bernardsville NJ some years back. If I run across them I'll add them to the photo archive.

EDIT - Hey Gusha, you're too fast for me. That photo by yours truly.

G'day lotustt1,
to PackardInfo and for sharing the story. If, just by chance, you happen to own a Packard could you please include it in the Packard Owner's Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

Actually not a newspaper article, but an article from the Lehigh University Alumni magazine... I was accepted to that university, as my folks lived in Bethlehem and Dad worked at "The Steel". When I went on the campus tour, the tour guide showed me Packard #1 in Packard Laboratory, they were very proud of their Packard heritage! But ended going to college in Maryland instead, and just as well, as I met my wife there 42 yrs ago!

This one is better, taken by myself at the Fairfield CT Concours a few years back. Check the color-coordinated shirt on Fred. It was a rare treat for me to also be invited to exhibit my 34 at that Concours as it's not a restored car but a "driver" and such cars are not usually among Concours invitees, but it had a historic connection to Fairfield and got a nice write-up in the program.
