Has anyone found a close replacement for the 54 Clipper? I don't know if that would be cheaper than getting one repaired.

Not to my knowledge. Keegan was working on a possible tank fit (with some mods needed) but haven't seen him online for some time & don't know the status. 51-6 interchange & currently, used tanks are about the only option. Even those are in short supply and getting expensive. If yours is repairable, it might be the best solution & a wash as to price.

Look up Gas-Tank-Renu on Google. I had my '54 tank done, and couldn't be happier with the results.

For anyone whose need isn't immediate, I've just learned that new reproduction tanks will become available sometime next year, probably later in the year rather than earlier. Not sure at this time that I'm free to name who the source will be, so I best not.

Assuming it comes to fruition, it's been a long time coming. I understand the reproduction will be for the 51-56 (perhaps minus the one or two models in that span that use a different tank).

That's good news.

Do you know if it will be stamped, as original?

No Brian, I don't know. No specific information came with the notice I received, nor did I inquire further about any details.
