Thanks, Owen. I didn't think it was. It looked too small and too "cheap".

best P tell tale is the "coffin top" grill shell and flat hood edge lines. W/o that, it's not.
Cars of this vintage are rapidly becoming unrecognizable by most today and documentation is waning. I've yet to confirm the family Peerless. Even my memory has faded on the '20-'30s cars I used to recognize when they were just old used cars. We used to play a game on long car trips where you went around and named a defunct car company, but I don't think that's in vogue but you can add Saturn, Olds, and Pontiac, etc. now.

Frequently I will be asked ‘Who made this car?’, and I reply ‘Packard’. I guess the person has already did a quick walk-around and had already saw the badging, because the next question goes something like ‘No no no, was it made by Ford, GM, or Chrysler?’. That begins the slightly longer discussion about all of the ‘non-big-three’ manufacturers that went out of business. I guess I can add the modern badges within the ‘big-three’ that fell out of corporate favor.
I went looking for how many US automobile manufactures have closed their doors . . . it’s an amazingly long list, see: List of defunct automobile manufacturers of the United States - Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_defunct_au ... _manufacturers_of_the_United_States Perhaps I could edit this list to remove those early ‘brass era’ marks, and again those that did not survive the depression. That might be a better list to discuss when the ‘question’ is asked.

Was thinking about making such a list in Excel before; there's almost 1400 entries there. Got around to doing it this time, after a couple of hours of Word macros, find-and-replace, Notepad CSV-ing, and custom Excel formulas, I got the data processed into an Excel spreadsheet.
There are a few errors in the sheet here and there with double-entries. For double-entries with a "year defunct" the year info should apply only to the second name in the cell, with the first one having no info on it. If anyone wants to patch these up (and maybe fix Excel's random alphabetizing errors) it would be appreciated, but I don't think anyone will be looking too closely at it; the Wikipedia page is still there for a proper reference. Note: there is a "macro enabled" (.xlsm) and normal (.xlsx) versions. Just open the normal one unless you want to see the Excel macros I used (Excel will give you a warning if you try to open the macro one).
