Well folks after a weekend of being down looks like we are back up. I had to call and have a few "choice" words with the people at my provider. I have a feeling when this years contract is up, I will be moving to a provider that doesn't take weekends off when there is a hardware failure.

I hope this break in server allowed up all to get up from the computers and get out in the garage working on your Packards.

Not a bad idea. Should we make this mandatory every few months or so?

Surprising no one was on call but as to timing, I swear these are not dumb machines--am convinced they all work with the Borg collective. I couldn't count the number of times one of mine was perfectly well behaved until 4PM on a Friday or worse yet, something major would crap the weekend before a holiday.

The other problem is that they are only available via email. But I used some sneaky contacts I have to find a phone number for them. They are all japanese and so is their phone system, so it took me a bit to understand their prompts and get someone like on the phone. I think they were surprised I made it through the maze. Then I unloaded on them with both barrels.

Kevin, I didn't realize how often I'm on your site until it was gone this weekend. I was jonesing for an on-line Packard fix all weekend! I used the downtime to go out to the Gilmore Museum in Michigan over the weekend however I was only there for 15 minutes before the whole place lost power due to a storm. Anyhow I've made a small donation to your website via Paypal and I hope you use it in your quest for a more reliable host.

Glad to have you back up and running. I was beginning to think it was me. I too was starting to bite my nails wondering what was I gong to do if I couldn't get on line . I almost had to talk with the wife. (close)

On the upside, I've noticed a couple of avatars I have never seen before. I hope they keep posting (or maybe they just post where I don't go). Whatever-- thanks for being there. I do think donations are in order, too. I'll join that parade ASAP.
