Hey, does anyone know where I can buy some of the original color grey paint used on the 48 super eight’s 327 engine?

Massey Ferguson Grey from Tractor Supply works great. Use their hardener with it.

In the past there was only the Majic in that color and I mixed and sprayed it. Rustoleum makes very nice paint for the money and I'm sure it would work fine. Like every other project, prep is everything to keep it all from peeling off.

Hardener will improve the temperature stability and oil resistance of enamel but not equivalent to modern "engine paint".
"Tractor" paint is mostly enamel and is for the sheet metal as well. The factory paint was very similar because that's the tech-o-day. Alkyd(enamel) or lacquer were the choices. FYI: Your choice. Enamel may look pretty at first but may not stay that way but that would be "correct" so to speak. Modern engine paint is not "period/OEM" but better long term. Even the engine paint won't stand up to some engine parts. I usually have exhaust, ceramic coated for longevity.
