See an "Ask The Man Who Owns One" floor mat in a 1948 Woody for sale. Can they be purchased? Very nice.

If it is the mat I am thinking of -- individual maybe 16 x 20 rectangular pieces on each side with a crest and lettering in bright colors -- I believe those were a project by Packards International or one of its regions many years ago. They were never a real Packard offering and as far as I know, NLA.

I believe Kanter has repro'd the only offering that Packard made except his are available in black only. Packard offered some additional colors in some years to better harmonize with carpet and interior trim.

Thanks. Those are what I was referring to. Packard crest in the middle. Colorful. Unique. Dealer said they were $79,000. Had to buy the Woody to get them. Kanters are different.

I hope this is not highjacking a thread, but in my 49 was a floor mat protection, wich I wonder if this is original and available new... I consider it very nice but sadly it is old and cracking... no longer usable. is there a reproduction on the market?

Yes, it was available new [part no. PA-419421] and sold for $1.25. I'm not aware of any source for a reproduction.

thank you! 1,25... I would pay that for shure... ok, the worth of the money has changed a litle... but I would pay the 20,- in todays money too... perhaps future will find a way with 3D-printing

I think this one would still need to be cast. Materials available for 3D printing are still pretty limited.

It wasn't, it just laid on top of the carpet.

If there was an original available still in reasonably decent condition I'd bet a silicone mold could be made and new ones cast with urethane rubber.

it wasn?t laid on the floor, it was made to slide over the gas pedal. This should avoid that you damage the floor with your shoe (second pic, a pampered 56.000 miles showcar with this problem)
