I bought the remains of my 126 in 1976 and restored it over a 10 year period. the remains of the car had been in the open in outback Australia for many years so it was in very rough condition. I doubt very much if that old coil would work. It will be about a month before I can look for it.
My comments about it being detrimental referred to its use in Australia where in summer we can have vapour lock issues and and it is unnecessary in our relatively mild winter but in your country maybe it would be beneficial if you wanted to run your 243 in very cold conditions.
Love to see a photo of your car, maybe start a new thread so as not to hijack this one.

It's chassis #200346, engine #210784.
I don't know the boby builder.

It has spend most of it's live in Spain, only to be brought to the US for sale.
I bought it last year and brought her back to Europe.

Appears almost certainly to be standard issue factory coachwork. Photos below of a 143 for comparison.

Looking at the drop down list for adding a 1926 243 Model, if your model is not there I suggest a "work around". You'll notice at the top of the Registry Submission page this note "Please try to fill out as many fields as possible, you can edit them later if needed." Although not kosher, once an entry is created you can modify the content. That would be my way of including a model that is not listed in the drop down list.

It has an original boot tray and Packard made carrying trunk.

It's actually our to you for including your '26 243 Eight Touring in the Packard Owner's Registry. Most interesting is that it's equipped with power steering "that can be removed to original state in 30 min." I'm sure many would be interested to know and see more about that feature.

I will be glad to add some documentation on the Power steering. Will take a while as I'm very busy traveling the next couple of weeks.

Will come up with a new thread, once I have time.
