I have a 4 speed. All gears grind at a stop with clutch depressed.

I think Packardbarry pretty much nailed down the likely suspects in Post #3. Several of us would be interested to know the culprit when you finally solve this so please keep us posted.

I haven't fixed this gear grinding issue yet. However I do plan on dropping the transmission in a few weeks. I didn't mention one fact before is that the transmission shifts great when cold, but after you drive it a little bit, it starts acting up. Also it doesn't do it all the time. So it seems to me perhaps a clearance is borderline and when the metals expand due to heat, the clearance is not sufficient enough anymore.
Since it happens at a stop when the transmission isn't turning, shouldn't you suspect the clutch or the pilot bearing? Since it happens at a stop, you can rule out the transmission. When you install the clutch is there any alignment you should perform? I did try try heavier gear oil to no avail. Thanks for the help.

Let us know what you find. I rather doubt the problem is internal to the transmission - more likely clutch or pilot bearing related, or some sort of misalignment. Though not necessarily the cause of the problem you should check the adjustment of the clutch pressure plate fingers, the procedure is in the 33/34 Service Letters (Vol. 8, No. 4, Feb. 15, 1934) along with the specification for 900-901-902 and 1001-1002, 1-1/32 inch. A special tool is illustrated in the Service Letters but it shouldn't be too hard to rig something yourself.

I don't know if this is possible on your Packard but I had a somewhat similar problem with my Fiero once- drove me crazy. No matter what adjustments I made the gears would grind. Turned out to be that I had too much pedal throw and the nose of the TO bearing was pushing the disk onto the fly wheel. I found the answer by accident when I only pushed the clutch in half way and it shifted fine. Easy enough to check.

This forum discussion seemed to point to the clutch fingers adjustment also.
