Thanks for that picture, that helps me know the correct style plate looks like. The ones that Will has for sell are for sedans (body mount), not a coupe (fender mount).

I couldn't escape being around other Packard people for two weeks without finding a part I could use. Thanks to Steve Trot for giving me this rumbleseat step.

I just checked to verify it was a LHD one and it is. First time I had seen cars with steps on the left side (RHD).

I got the brake bled again after having the fronts off when I replaced the kingpins.

Also stripped and gave one of the front fenders a quick coat of primer and rattle can black to hold it until I'm ready to do the real body work. Buy before gave it any paint, I roughed out all the damage along the lower edge where it have rolled under and smashed. Also had to weld the corner where the outside edge meets the running board. When that lower got rolled under it broke the spot welds and also ripped the top sheet metal. So that's all back where it should be and the rip was welded up. So the panel dimensions are correct now.

The rattle can black was a little too glossy compared to the rest of the car, so I scuffed it a bit with a scotch bright pad to weather it some.

It’s looking great! When the previous owner modified the fenders, was the rear “beaver tail” (the body below the deck lid) also modified and if so were you able to get it sorted out?

Yes rear valance panel was replaced and modified. I will have to reshape it back to where it is supposed to be.

I had several weekends working on my '40 110, with cracked fenders, severe damage on the lower front edges of the fenders, and metal far to thin to weld with the Harbor Freight wire feed.

Yeah, that was fun.

I did tack-weld in a 3/16" rod on almost all of the lower edges of the fenders, and welded in patches behind the cracks on one fender, and riveted the other. Then a layer of fiberglass-filler, a layer of fiberglass, and another layer of filler. The leading 1/4 of the front fenders was thin enough to dent with my thumb. The (trash quality) fenders are much stronger now. The repairs will be primed and painted body-color, but the rest of the patina will remain.
