It's got the wrong thermostat housing for a 356. Plus, he mentioned it came out of a 1942 Clipper. If he took a 356 out of a 1942 Clipper, he destroyed an extremely rare car (two known).

Also has the wrong fan. But... the apparent location of the distributor [mid-engine] would lead me to believe the block may be a 356. The engine has a Carter car-starter carburetor.

Anyone notice the reported VN on that 110?

n209327cal

That sure looks like the engine number of prewar cars I have seen that have had one of the post-war "factory authorized" replace engines installed in the (see service letters on that).

I've just never seen a 6 cyl postwar factory replacement motor.

For anyone interested in that 1940 110 Sedan, here are some additional pictures. As I thought, post was "factory" replacement motor. Not a bad car for a "turn-key" fun car to drive and not worry about.

I was interested, but David convinced me to wait for the car I really want.

Kev, we drove by the Hye Market (Hye, Texas) on our way to scope out the 2016 Texas Packard Meet's site in Kerrville. On the way we noticed the 1936 Packard 120B Touring Coupe is still sitting across the street from the market under cover of an old gas station. The photos were taken a couple of years ago, but the cars still looks the same.

It looks good and complete. A low production body style and a most attractive one too. Interested?

(o{}o)

Here is the contact info. Sure would like to see someone get this Packard.

Dream car would be a junior rumble seat coupe (120/115/110). But most likely a regular coupe is what I will end up with.

Just waiting for the right car, in the right condition, at the right time and more importantly at the right price to come along.

Junior, because I want a smaller wheel base car and don't want the restoration expense of a senior car.
