I hope Wazza doesn't mine me using his thread, but I have a cable I'm trying to identify.
So here it is, it looks like Packard Part Number 378144. The cable multiple wires of different lengths. Its about 7 ft. long and has one wire with a fuse cap end. The closest I could find was in the 1947 Parts book was Part Number 378147 2000-001-03-06-10-11 for 4.057651 Wiring Harness -Rear, but that's not it.
Thanks for any help.
Wes

378144 is shown in the parts list under Group 4.05765 and is the front wiring harness for 1942 Clippers, Models 2000 to 2011 with Electromatic Clutch

Okay, as I clean out my treasures, I found this Head Gasket and Side Cover Gaskets. I'm not sure how I got them but it does look the same as on my 47 Packard 356 but much smaller. So are these for a Packard and if so for which engine.
Thanks to all for any help.
Wes

I believe that is 120. You should have no trouble finding a home for it....

Probably for the 282 engine. Those had a bore of 3 1/4 vs the 3 1/2 on the 356. Engine was used on the small Clipper 8s thru 47 and maybe how you wound up with the gaskets.

I don't remember how I got them but just been laying around for the longest time. Trying to clean out stuff I don't need.

I don't think its for a Packard. Maybe for a Pontiac or Buick straight eight. I could not find any of the listed part numbers in my Packard books.

Not for a Buick, but for an L-head engine.

That part number is probably the aftermarket mfgs own number.

I just compared my spare 282 ci engine head gasket to the photo showing the whole gasket. It is definitely not for the Packard 282 engine. There are too many holes. Also some of the Packard water holes are rectangular.
