G'day Rusty_1999,
Little late to the party, but to PackardInfo. I also invite you to include your '53 Patrician in the Packard Owner's Registry, whether Packard powered or otherwise. Concerning a 4 speed trans, although I can't vouch for the accuracy of this information, have heard a Ford T10 transmission has the same bolt pattern as a Packard manual trans. Although finding a good, reasonably priced T10 might be hard to do.

Best wishes to the OP on his build, however he chooses and whatever he makes it. I, for one, am fascinated. This is America and you get to do what you wish, pretty much.
I've been pondering an old car ride for years - weekends, the occasional drive to work, and trips. I have a Harley-Davidson big road bike I use similarly And my grandfather had several pregnant Packards, including his daily driver. I've been thinking of one of those, or a Clipper, or a 120 if I can find one for cheaper than my first-born. Coupe. So I've been doing a lot of reading and have come up with a few theories of how best to modify one of these anvils. One thought keeps going through my head: supercharge it. The Eatons fill the used parts yards. Mock up an aluminum manifold, hang it off the side of the engine, put a good carb (or EFI) in it, get a cold air intake going, and have a ball. Oh, and a big exhaust. Just a couple of thoughts. Enjoying the threads and ads. Maybe I'll start a build theory thread . . . .

Thank you for the welcome, and I can certainly do that. May have a deal worked out as of today to finalize next month. We'll see.
