Rusty 1999 - Take a look at the Diamondback Auburn Deluxe tubeless radial ply tires. I bought a set for my 1932 Ford 3-window coupe. The have the vintage look and the benefit of modern tire technology. I looked at Cokers too, but their reputation is mixed and decided to go with the DBs. My tire guy said they were smooth, round and true. They needed very little weights to balance. They come in Blackwell and Whitewall.

G'day Rusty_1999,
Little late to the party, but to PackardInfo.

I also invite you to include your '53 Patrician in the Packard Owner's Registry, whether Packard powered or otherwise.

Concerning a 4 speed trans, although I can't vouch for the accuracy of this information, have heard a Ford T10 transmission has the same bolt pattern as a Packard manual trans. Although finding a good, reasonably priced T10 might be hard to do.

Best wishes to the OP on his build, however he chooses and whatever he makes it. I, for one, am fascinated. This is America and you get to do what you wish, pretty much.

I've been pondering an old car ride for years - weekends, the occasional drive to work, and trips. I have a Harley-Davidson big road bike I use similarly And my grandfather had several pregnant Packards, including his daily driver. I've been thinking of one of those, or a Clipper, or a 120 if I can find one for cheaper than my first-born. Coupe.

So I've been doing a lot of reading and have come up with a few theories of how best to modify one of these anvils. One thought keeps going through my head: supercharge it. The Eatons fill the used parts yards. Mock up an aluminum manifold, hang it off the side of the engine, put a good carb (or EFI) in it, get a cold air intake going, and have a ball. Oh, and a big exhaust.

Just a couple of thoughts. Enjoying the threads and ads. Maybe I'll start a build theory thread . . . .

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

Thank you for the welcome, and I can certainly do that.

May have a deal worked out as of today to finalize next month. We'll see.
