Got the tubing done today. Very similar to the Hash arrangement, including the clip that goes in the hole symmetrical to the front oil filter bolt hole. Though on those cars the fuel line ran up the firewall. Obviously I will be running it in the factory location.

Also got the distributor installed. 😃

Except the Hash didn't have the vacuum pump in the crankcase so on a Packard the vacuum line from the carb would head toward the firewall and only the fuel line would be visible in that front of engine location.

Thanks for responding, but no, the Hash cars had a combined fuel and vacuum pump. It's exactly what I have, only difference is there is not a 3rd long parallel line for fuel. (The engine is out of a Hash and I rebuilt the original fuel pump.) It works quite well as I explain in this post since the fuel fittings, and vacuum fittings are naturally the same as on a Packard. The only difference is I had to replace the 1/4" pipe to 3/8" flare fitting on the inlet side of the fuel pump, with a 1/4" pipe street elbow 90 to fit the adapter hose 419506.

Here is my old gasoline tube assembly 465144, typical of 465146 which is a bit longer.

Starting on the left there are 2 P clips (one not shown because the line rusted) which connect to the welded box member, the next shares a screw with the brake light switch, then there is another on the same frame member. The tube then dips down from the top of the frame behind the front fender, to run along the side. Probably there is supposed to be an isolator here.

Along the side there are 2 more clips of the longer type, another isolator, then a last clip that shares a screw with the parking cable holder for the left rear wheel. The latter was a different style though the parts book gives them as the same.

Made some good progress on Saturday. Put in a full 12 hour day outside in 40°F drizzle. First I got the brake pedal shaft lubricated and master cylinder installed. Then I realized I needed to install the new fuel line before filling the brakes since the brake light switch screw is covered by the front left brake line. So I installed the fuel tank, which required quite the heat cycle on the T bolt nuts to get them loose. I like to run the nut around on the threads with PB Blaster or light oil to really get the gunk off. Got the tank installed and fuel line ran. I used aluminum fuel line, 5/16 OD:a.co/d/gaTnuGb

We got the engine and transmission mated. I noticed that the engine-to-transmission bolts have an usually low torque spec of 25-30 lbs-ft in both the instructions and torque spec manual. The normal spec is 55-60.

Afterwards, I was able to load the engine in with my cousin driving the skidsteer. We only got the front 2 engine mounts in, the rear one is not quite right still. And the linkages and all lines still need connected. Still need to make the transmission cooler lines and install the propeller shaft. Etc. And also the steering linkage. A job for another day. I stuffed rags in the carb and set the hoist plate on it to hopefully keep the mice away, though I won't be away from it but a few days I think.

Edit: after talking with Ross, the 25-30 torque spec is incorrect for the 7/16 transmission bell housing to engine block bolts; it should be 55-60. But it is noncritical, so I will just snug them down some more with a box wrench.
