I am removing the clutch on a 36 120B and the book says to hold the clutch fingers in with special tool ST-879. Does anybody have any tips on how to do this without the special tool?

sierrafrog, clipper47 a sometimes poster on this site can help you with your question. He had to do this when changing the clutch on his 47 Custom Clipper. You can PM him about this. He is most helpful and a good guy to boot.

I think this it what JW is referring to when he talks about Clipper47's method on changing the clutch on his '47 Super Clipper. See this post in the Wade's Workshop blog, Page #116, Post #1156.
