Fellas,

Does anyone have experience removing the gear shift stick from top plate of the transmission on a 1937 115C? There appears to be a ring and a few pins/plugs that need removed. Just want to make sure I do this correctly?

Any help would be great!

Ben

G'day Ben Gabler,
to PackardInfo. Sorry I can't help with your question, but I'm sure others will. Flackmaster?

Although I do invite you to include your '37 115C in the Packard Owner's Registry.

I'm sorry I do not have the technical photos or words - I know of two guys who have done this recently. It is not hard once you figure out how the captive spring is secured. I was quoted 250 or 300 (I forget which) from the last guy that did his - very capable guy, I can find his info if you want someone else to do it.

If you do it yourself, PLEASE post pictures and instructions...this comes up from time to time and I do not now of any published data as such. Would be appreciated.

There are only six bolts holding the top cover on, I believe. If you have to take the floor board out anyway, it might be faster to just take the top cover off. It takes a 1/2" wrench if I recall correctly. That will also give you a chance to inspect the synchros, etc.
