Probably cast iron. You'll have to have it brazed by someone who knows what they are doing.

However you chose to repair it, recognize the risk that if the repair isn't secure and gets sucked into the manifold, it could get wedged under an open valve and cost far more in damage than a proper fix.

C.C just a little note on forum etiquette. Typing in 'ALL CAPS' is read as shouting in the forums. Better to type in all lower case then upper case.

Thanks,

What engine do you have? I have an extra manifold for a 288 or 327 engine.

If it's really a very small or hairline crack with no real danger of any repair being sucked into the engine, you might be able to use JB weld as someone else had suggested. But first drill a small hole at the end of the crack which should stop further growth, then bevel the outer surface a bit before sealing. But if the crack is larger, I'd look for a new manifold. BTW, cracks in the intake manifold are extremely rare, any indication of what caused it?

its a 288.I believe it's the exhaust manifold because it blowing out not sucking in just double checked it.
