Hello new packard owner i picked up a 1936 packard 120 no motor would a 1952 motor fit if i used the 36 front motor mounts the 52 has the mounts on the side maybe some one did this,the head and block measure the same but i don't know if the block would be drilled to accept the 36 mounts thanks sunrise

No idea how different your 36 chassis might be, but in the July 53 service counselor vol27 #7, there is an article on replacing a 356 engine used in various models after 1940 with a current production model engine since the 356 was NLA. You might be able to get some idea of what that entailed and be able to adapt to yours.

Thanks i should have stated it is a 327 Packard L-head motor that i have in running condition i measured the block it is the same just not sure if the front mounts will bolt to the 327,my 36 had a 288 [total rebuid on the 288 would cost big money]i guess i will have to take the balancer and timeing chain apart to see.The 36 trans.bolted right on.Agian thanks

On the subject of the front motor mounts: all you have to do is swap the plate behind the timing chain, and you're done.
