1940 110 Convertible coupe dashboard and trim treatment

Hi everybody:

I have been trying to find as many pics as I can on the net to find out details to correctly restore my newly aquired 110. I have found dashboards painted in simulated wood (regular wood color) a sort of white wood, and some in body color. What was regularly used?

I would prefer to do it body color, but would settle for what was correct.

While at this, what about the windshield surround moulding and the door top mouldings?I have seen them in simulated wood, body color and even chrome.

Can anybody provide information on how the car was done originally?

Thanks,
Victor

Here's a pic of instrument board listing in the Parts Book, shows two part numbers and colours for 1800 cars.

There are also a couple of threads over on the PAC Site which have dash paint/treatment as their topic. Although not specific to '40 110's.

Thread 1

Thread 2

Thread 3

Also had a look at the first 10 pages(of 45) in the Pre-War Forum here, found nothing about dash colours. Didn't check the other 35 pages though.

Thanks for all your help! By reading at the threads you suggested (though mostly refered to 1941 models), it would seem it is not absolutely clear what they used... but by looking at the list you posted, I guess it is pretty clear that the cars used simulated wood trim, in either Sapele Mahogany Tan (I suppose the dark color) or Aspen Mottled, (which I guess is the grayish color).

I would have loved to find body color as an option!

Thanks for posting the information.
