I came up with a process that worked very well for me.

I first sprayed the area of the lettering with a semi-gloss black aerosol.
I used a loose paper mask to keep the cleanup to a minimum.

After drying overnight, I took a white ScotchBrite pad with some mineral spirits and removed the paint from the raised areas. A small flat hard rubber block behind the pad helps.

I then polished the paint a little with some compound and a soft rag. The semi gloss paint has a perfect sheen at this point.

I created a vector file for the hexagon, and cut some from red reflective vinyl with a digital sign plotter.

Applied the hexagons, and viol?!

Will post images from my laptop when I get home.

If anyone wants vinyl hexagons, send me a SASE and make at least a $10 donation to packardinfo.com, and I will send you a set of 12. You can PM or email me.
