I just got the message after posting: "Why not take a break and come back in 40 seconds?" in RED. What's the deal with that???

Craig

P.S. Just got it again when editing this post.

Craig,

It's happened to me a number of times. What I think is happening, and I'm often wrong, is that it happens after you've posted and you try and edit that post without first leaving it. IE, you post, it comes on-screen and you immediately try and edit the post you just made. To avoid this message occurring, if you want to edit a post just made, go out of the post so it refreshes then go back in and edit it.

My and as I said, I'm often wrong being technologically challenged!

Notice it quite often here too. Probably no correlation, but I first remember seeing it starting around the same time the site was acting up with the DNS issue.

Nah, I don't think so. I've written many websites. I think this is a bandwidth problem that the server imposes. But, BigKev would know for sure. It just surprised me when it happened.

I believe there is a 45 seconds wait period between making new posts. This was added to prevent spammers from nailing the website with post after post after post in rapid succession.

BigKev,

Ok, that might explain it, except that IMO one should be able to edit one's same post within 45 seconds to correct some minor typo or something.

I've also had it happen after logging in and then going straight to a post in the recent forum topic. As Craig mentions, also frequently on editing. It seems like it might be looking for any rapid activity in the 45 seconds and in more places other than just hitting the new post button.
