Thanks guys!

Stan, no the interior was not a kit, it came from a '54 Super Clipper donor car that Ross owned. The seats and door panels are 100% original Packard.

The kids went on a drive with me yesterday to the local taco shop and my youngest said "It's a lot less scary to ride in then before."

We also stopped at the gas station so I top off the stale fuel with some fresh.

Spent today running a clay bar over the paint to remove some overspray that you can see but can feel. But once the temp hit 100F in the garage, I had to go back inside the house.

Flying off to CT in the morning for another week. So probably no further updates till I get back.

Trying to get in some Packarding before I fly off to Portland next week for business.

Took the car for nearly a 40 mile drive. 30 of it was on the freeway at 65mpg+. She did really well for a basically original motor and a gear start with non functional lock-up. She was for sure drinking gas.

Sure looks nice though. With the non lockup, how is the noise level and any signs of overheating?

She didn't sound too bad, engine wasn't screaming. Gauge was pointing at the P in the TEMP when I was running her hard. Normally at the M or between the M & P, middle of the gauge is between the E & M. Still nowhere near the hot on the gauge.

Hoping the freeway runs will get the rings loosened up a bit and take care smoke screen I am generating on acceleration.

Skippered the Clipper to a carshow at the local Bob's BigBoy. 65 cars in attendance, mostly Big 3 offerings. There was a 49 Kaiser. Lots of street rods, muscle cars and Tri-Five offerings. But low and behold, the sedate Clipper was a fan favorite. People liked a mostly original car and something they don't see that often. Awarded a Top Ten plaque.

Kev,

Your opening comment of Skippered the Clipper also triggered my interest because there's a Skipper- A-Clipper business here but strictly of the nautical variety!
